Do not be late. The boat will not wait for you. It is strongly suggested that you leave your accommodations with time to spare, you don’t want to miss the boat – If you require a “Google Live Location” Pin, please send us a WhatsApp: +27 82 838 2309 and we will send one to you.

Departure time is 08.00 AM to Seal Island here in False Bay. This is roughly a 25 min boat ride.

The boat will do a tour around Seal Island, doing an inspection lap with the aim of choosing the best spot to anchor up with regards to wind and swell direction and start diving.

The shark cage is lowered into the water and secured alongside the boat. A bait line is put in the water as well as the carpet seal decoy. These are used as attractants for the sharks. They are surface feeders and are very curious animals. Please note that the aim is not to feed sharks. We are NOT an adrenaline outfit and we do not touch sharks.

Start shark cage diving. We advise that you wear your swimming costume underneath your cloths – All dive gear is provided, and you will change on board. We have a lavatory on board too for privacy if you wish. We use scuba gear and snorkel and are the only operators to offer scuba with every dive at no additional cost.

If you do not wish to dive, you will still have excellent shark views as we have a lovely viewing deck on the boat. We will provide a wetsuit in your size in case you change your mind as guests often do when they see how easy it is.

We have a cooler box with snacks, drinks, water, muffins on board which you are welcome to help yourself too.

11.30 Return to Simon’s Town. You’re welcome to have a coffee on us while your brows our gift shop for novelty items as reminders of your experience with us.

JANUARY TO APRIL: Shark cage diving and viewing. We dive with various shark species depending on what sharks are currently in the area.

MAY TO AUGUST: Combination of great white shark breaching, predation, shark viewing and shark cage diving. We may dive with other sharks depending on what sharks are currently in the area.

A kind reminder, for your own benefit and comfort to bring along some of the listed items below.

We will include a brief weather update in our Trip Confirmation Mail, sent to you the day prior to your scheduled shark cage diving trip with us. Kindly dress accordingly.

Please wear your swimming costume under your clothes, this is because you will change into your wetsuit, provided by us, onboard.

We strongly advise that you take motion sickness medication the night before and the morning of your trip. We do not sell motion sickness medication at our premises. These are available OTC from any pharmacy.

Please be sure to lather up on sunscreen and wear a hat, even if there is heavy cloud cover, the reflection of the sun on the sea is very strong as is the South African sun!

Please bring along your own towel, it helps us immensely.

Rain/wind jacket – It can get cold and windy out there and it’s best to be prepared.

Beanie and scarf – we do sell beanies at our shop in case you forget.

Camera (we sell disposable underwater camera’s) We are able to sell you a universal waterproof cell phone pouch to use underwater to save your videos directly to your phone. We also stock “beanies”, sun hats, sunscreen and warm clothing; we do have these available in the store.

Refrain from overindulging the night before and have an early evening. Do not overindulge as you will be horribly seasick.  Sea sickness is horrible, and we do not give a “seasick” discount.

Please Note: We have a very high success rate, but we are working with wild animals. Please be aware of this, so you do not arrive with unrealistic expectations. Shark sightings and activity are never guaranteed and even during peak season, there may be days when the sightings are lower than expected. No refunds will be made for non-sightings.

Our shark cage diving trips take place from Simons Town, which is a mere 45 minutes drive from Cape Town CBD. We offer two shark diving tours, one that meets at 07h30 and another at 11h30. We go out every day, weather-dependent of course and take a maximum of 12 guests and have a minimum number of 6.

We are the only shark cage diving operator to offer scuba with every dive, at no additional cost. No experience needed as we make use of the hookah method. We have an age limit of 8 years old for the boat and 10 years old for the shark cage dive, we are regrettably not equipped for younger children. The cost of the trip is R3 295.00 per person, this is the cost of the tour whether you are just shark viewing or shark cage diving, as we charge for the space on the boat as opposed to the shark cage diving activity itself.

Round-trip transfers are available at an additional cost of R850.00 per person and or R1600 for a single guest travelling alone. To check availability, please visit our website at www.ultimate-animals.com and follow the “Book Now” button.

We are fortunate to be shark cage diving throughout the year the time of year will determine the type of sharks you are likely to encounter when you are out shark diving with us. We dive with Bronze Whaler Sharks, the elusive and pre-historic looking Broadnose Sevengill Sharks, Blue and Mako Sharks, and when in season, (Typically between May and August) Great White Sharks (Typically between April and August). We have Hammerhead Sharks coming through our bay briefly, and there are many other species of shark in our waters.

Though our focus is shark cage diving, we are lucky enough at times to experience the Marine Big 5.  Once more, depending on the time of year you join us, you may have the pleasure of experiencing the peaceful yet powerful beauty of the various whales that migrate to our bay and those that call it home. Southern Right Whales, Humpback Whales, and Brydes Whales are a majestic sight in their seasons, and of course, sometimes we even get to enjoy the space with Orcas (Killer Whales). Many times, we will be taken to the shark dive sight or pier by a group of Dolphins who playfully surf the boat currents. Should you require further information, feel free to ask.

We look forward to receiving your booking and welcoming you aboard.

The prices of the trips are from R3295,00 per person, excluding transfers. Transfers are R850,00 per person. A single person transfer is charged a flat rate of R1600,00

We do not recommend children under the age of 8 coming along as it’s a long. Should your child over 11 wish to shark cage dive, it will need to be with a parent and at the discretion of the skipper. day at sea for them and sea sickness can be a big issue.
